Honoring Bobby Proctor

The Oklahoma Sooners defense of the 70's and 80's was personified by the toughness and intensity of 19-year secondary coach Bobby Proctor. His wiry gray hair and booming voice were omnipresent on the Sooners' sideline from 1973-1991. Proctor's ties run deep with Barry Switzer. Proctor was Switzer's freshman coach at the University of Arkansas and when Switzer took over at the University Of Oklahoma, he called Proctor to lead his secondary. Proctor developed numerous All-Americans and NFL players and was beloved by those he mentored. Coach Proctor was an expert hunter and fisherman and those lucky enough to spend some time with him in those endeavors always hit their limit. Coach Proctor passed away on October 10th at the age of 92 years of age.
